I can not say enough great things about Southern Oregon. My best friend from college lives there with her husband, and every time I have gone to visit them I have found myself in complete awe over the scenery. It's somewhat like stepping into another world, since it looks so different from the views living on the east coast, the midwest, and the south. The forecast for the trip was not looking good, just rain all day every day. Thankfully the sun made a couple of peaks out from behind the clouds which allowed us to go hiking Upper Table Rock on Saturday. Upper Table Rock is one of two high plateaus that allow you to see all of Jackson County below. The views are stunning and the feeling you get while walking along the plain with the wind blowing through your hair is exhilarating. Basically, the next time I go, I'm making Dane and Carly my models and we're doing a photoshoot!
Sunday, Carly and Dane took me snow shoeing around Crater Lake. The drive itself was full of spectacular scenery and gave me a lovely view of the Rogue River. Slowly but surely, the rain turned to snow and everything got quieter. We were afraid we wouldn't get to snow shoe up by the lake since there were blizzard like conditions, but thankfully they got the pass cleared. I was a little skeptical at first since it was freezing and extremely windy, but as soon as we entered the forrest it became still. Unfortunately, it was too stormy and cloudy to see the lake, but it was seriously one of the coolest experience I've ever had and I will never forget a minute of it.
I am so thankful to Carly and Dane for an amazing long weekend with Carly and Dane and I can't wait to get back. Southern Oregon will always have a special place in my heart and I can't wait to get back.
