It had been a couple hectic months since our last collab, but Angelina and I finally found time to start planning the next one. With spring right around the corner, we decided it would be fun to plan a brunch. All the food you could eat and all the mimosas you could drink - count me in! We wanted it to be fun and fresh yet still practical. Both sides of the collab took on a lot of iterations before we landed on what we were really going to do. In thinking over possible diy's, I thought it would be really fun for everyone to have their own serving tray to pile high with food. The clear acrylic and beautiful gold handles I found on Amazon made the perfect simple yet elegant serving tray for all of Angelin's gorgeously colored food.
Angelina had the brilliant idea to do miniature servings of everything on the menu. For a second we were a bit concerned it wouldn't be enough food, but by the end of our first serving we were all super stuffed. The great thing about Angelina's menu is that a lot of it can be done the night before or the morning of. Because let's be honest - nothing is worse than getting out of Easter service, all ready to eat, and waiting another two to three hours before everything is ready.
Another small detail I added were gold wire napkin rings that went perfectly with the serving trays. Then with a little bit of tissue paper, fruit, and a couple of flowers I added some color. The centerpiece for the table was extremely easy - simply taking some fruit and flower ends of hydrangeas and el aleli brought a fresh and colorful addition to the table without breaking the bank.
Again, while I'm so happy with how everything turned out, the real joy was that my sister was in town and could join us. There really is nothing better than good food and great company. It also didn't hurt that our Elderflower Mimosa's were literally to die for! I can't wait to show you how easy it was to make the serving trays and napkin rings in a blog post next week and make sure you check out Angelina's blog for all of the incredible recipes.
