I love music, photography, and dance and when they come together I am in my happy place. So when I hear an amazing song, the first thing I think of is choreography and then I think of how I can capture it so it will last forever. That is basically what happened the first time I heared Noah Gundersen's song, "Fire." It is a chilling yet beautiful song about a boy's coming of age and his understanding of sin and it's grip on his life. In the end, even though he finds Jesus "in the rags of poverty," he still chooses to find freedom "in the wild eyes of the dancing girls" (prostitution) and "in the open arms of America." I shot these photos at Church of the Redeemer in Nashville and a huge thanks Anna and her friends for modeling for me.
Welcome to my new blog site katieannblog.com! All my previous blog entries that were on kitkat&knickknacks have been transferred to this site and I am excited to start adding more here shortly! This new blog site is very expressive of my new phase of life that I recently started. I am about to celebrate 3 months since officially moving to Nashville and while it is still a challenge to find a full time job, I could not be happier with where I have decided to take it on. So thank you all for keeping up with my life via my past blog and now this blog. Since I haven't done a blog post since last November there will be plenty of posts to come, a lot of them catching you up on what I have been up to since January. Again thank you for visiting and I hope you like the new site!
All great things must come to an end and "Cups" really made me realize what a great thing I've had here at Wheaton. On one hand Wheaton is screaming at me "You're going to miss me when I'm gone" and on the other hand I'm screaming that right back. This place has been such a blessing in my life and I've learned more about relationships, academics, and my dreams in the last four years here than ever before. While my future might be unclear, the type of person I want to be in the future is extremely evident to me.
As I leave this great place and phase of my life I want to invite you, my friends, and my family to join me on what is going to happen next and ask for your prayers and support.
"I sure would like some sweet company..."
